When comic book fan Gee was asked to create strips for V’s new KABOOM! canned drink, it was a special moment, he says.

"This was easily one of my dream jobs. Comics are a huge part of my life. I've done a lot of comic work that has been printed on paper or published digitally. But creating comic pages to go on cans and bottles is not something I've done before.”

In collaboration with Interbrand and Colenso BBDO, Gee created artwork not only for cans and bottles, but also for websites, billboards and points of sale. The illustrations, inspired by KABOOM’s flavour, were for three different V cans and bottles, to introduce V's new limited edition drink.

“I enjoyed every minute of working on them,” says Gee. “I got the chance to draw a raging Gorilla, a man with X-ray vision and a smooth Afro man. It just doesn’t get any better than that.”
