Matilda Bay Beer
Matilda Bay wanted to launch its first ever outdoor advertising campaign to showcase it's full range of brews.
Clemenger Melbourne approached Phill because of his painterly style and his previous work on other beer brands. The brief was to create mural-style paintings of the range.
'While digital painting is not the same as painting originals the feeling of working up the layers of 'paint' is still a very satisfying process,' says Phill.
Many people are familiar with Matilda Bays’ more famous family members, such as Fat Yak, but the campaign sets out to promote all its products range rather than individual beers. The campaign was named Population 8 after the eight brews on offer - Alpha pale ale, Fat Yak, Beez Neez, Redback, Helga, Dogbolter, Bohemian Pilsner and Dirty Granny cider.
