Bondi Republic

What makes Bondi so iconic is the diverse collection of spunks and spunkettes, international tourists, dedicated weirdos and all your mates on the weekend. Dennis and Sam Felix Joseph had to brave them all for research in illustrating the book.

Bondi’s only 1km across but on any sunny day there are acres and acres of skin on show. No surprise then, Dennis’ illustration for the book reflects that, with a grungy tattoo vibe hinting at the two vibrant sides of Bondi: day and night.
An international celebrity, a national icon, a tourist haven or simply home. Bondi means different things to different people.

In Bondi Republic photographer Ali Nasseri gives us a peek at the free-spirited, larger-than-life Sydney suburb that lies behind the designer shades and ripped abs. Gaze into the true heart of Bondi, where it’s kinda edgy, sorta irreverent and a little bit up itself.  Andrew Hoyne
