Artists Paint The Town

New Zealand’s premier street art festival, Graffiato, this year saw our artists’ contributions alongside those of the country’s most recognised practitioners.

Flox and Cinzah were among 18 artists invited to the annual event in Taupo by the city’s arts trust, Erupt Events, to paint walls in public spaces. With Beck tagging along for the ride, the trio painted murals around the CBD and neighbouring Mangakino.

Flox painted a large wall near the central city Burger King; Beck painted the back entrance to Price’s Bookshop, just around the corner; and Cinzah painted a huge wall in Mangakino.

“Dispelling the myth around those who paint public walls, you can see the artists for what they are: passionate and dedicated members of our communities who contribute freely their time and talent to beautify our public spaces,” the organisers said of the contributors.
